Cannabis Flavor Isn’t Just Sweet: Meet the Savory Side of Flower
Fruit, candy and dessert names are everywhere in cannabis, but not every strain is trying to smell like something from a bakery. Some of the most interesting flower profiles go in exactly the opposite direction—toward garlic, fuel, herbs, earth and other savory aromas. If you’ve spent most of your time exploring sweeter cannabis varieties, the current menu at Missouri Made Marijuana in Joplin offers a good excuse to investigate cannabis’s funkier side.
Packs Cannabis by Robust Hash Burger is a perfect example. The current product description lists its genetics as Han Solo Hash Plant × Double Burger and describes a profile featuring burnt rubber, garlic funk, grilled onions and savory chem. That’s a long way from strawberry candy. Its listed terpene content is 3.32%, with beta-caryophyllene and limonene among its most prominent terpenes.
That unusual combination highlights why aroma can be such an interesting part of choosing flower. Cannabis can produce a surprisingly broad spectrum of scents, and terpene combinations help create those differences. Earthy, spicy, citrus, floral and fuel-like notes can overlap in ways that make two strains with similar cannabinoid numbers smell completely different. Instead of asking only, “What’s the strongest?”, shoppers can ask a much more interesting question: “What does this actually smell and taste like?”
Another current Joplin option, Robust Whipz, takes things in yet another direction. It’s an indica-hybrid with White Runtz × Slapz genetics and is described as having creamy kush alongside diesel and sweet-and-spicy bubblegum notes. Its menu listing shows 3.51% total terpenes. Put Whipz next to Hash Burger and you have two products from the same Missouri producer demonstrating just how broad cannabis flavor profiles can become.
